Pregnant Ponderings

It's been such a joy to share our news of great expectations! It's been interesting to see the different responses. Most people are just very excited, some are like, "really?!?" as if they can't believe we're so crazy.

I've felt good most of the time so far, and my first trimester is almost over! The only complaint I have is the difficulty getting enough water, and if I don't eat every 2-3 hours, I start to feel a little faint. But I've always preferred snacking throughout the day over large meals anyway.

Cora has really slowed down a lot on her nursing. Today she hasn't nursed at all, but she usually still nurses well when she wakes up first thing, and to go to bed at night. Sometimes she'll nurse a little once or twice just before her naps, but not today. My little girl is growing up. I am fully prepared to try to nurse both of my babies if Cora still wants to nurse after she becomes a big sister, since she won't likely want to very often, plus she won't even be two years old yet. But, it is looking like she will wean herself before then.

It will be interesting to see how these pregnancies differ from each other. Being pregnant with Cora was fun, and not too bad - the worst complication I had was super-swollen feet and ankles. I like to think that this pregnancy will be easier, since I am starting off more physically fit, and since I am staying at home I will have more freedom to move around to hopefully prevent getting such puffy feet. Plus hopefully I can stay more fit. I gained quite a lot of additional weight while pregnant with Cora, so hopefully I can maintain a healthier weight this time. (I won't have thanksgiving to contend with, so the odds are in my favor!).
