20 week Dr. Appointment Yesterday

Yesterday we had the 20 week prenatal appointment. Got there, waited, peed in the cup (nurse said it looked great! haha!), got weighed (gained 9 pounds, but she said usually there is one or two big jumps, so it was okay) then headed back to the room for the blood pressure check (was really good). She said the nurse practitioner in training (M) was going to be coming in before Dr. S, in order to fulfill her time requirements.

She came in and asked if I had any questions. I asked about the "stretching" feeling that I've been having - had it with our first baby more towards the end of pregnancy, and it has been going on for quite some time now. She explained and said there wasn't much to do, other than do pelvic tilts (an exercise). Then she had me lie down and she measured my belly (right on track) and then we heard our son's heartbeat again! It was somewhere around 145 bpm. Anywhere from 120-160 is normal she said, so good! And that was it for the checkup with M, then she said that Dr. S would be in in just a little bit also, so we waited for her.

And waited.

Matt, Cora and I played all kinds of games in the room - spin the toddler on the Dr's stool, she climbed on the exam table, hide and seek (not very hard!). Finally Dr. S came in and apologized for the long wait, and basically just looked over the info that M had taken and said "looks good! any questions?" I'd already asked my question to M, and gotten a satisfactory answer, so we asked about the ultrasound, since the technician had told us that she was unable to get a good view of our son's kidneys, although she was able to see his bladder and that it was full, so obviously everyhing was working just fine. She wasn't concerned, but had us scheduled for another ultrasound in 4 weeks at the same time we go in for the next prenatal checkup.
