Food!

So, I get asked pretty often if I've been having any cravings.

I have had cravings my entire life: pizza, chocolate, ice cream. This is pretty much how I live out my eating habits. Rather impulsive. I have a difficult time (always have!) coming up with weekly meal plans because sometimes whatever dish it was I planned to make that night no longer sounds good, but (fill-in-the-blank) does! So, that hasn't really changed.

I have had some slightly more unusual cravings, typically I crave the list above, but here lately I've been wanting more healthy stuff. A couple of weeks ago all I wanted was green vegetables, peas, lettuce, spinach, and so forth. A few days later it was FRUIT! I couldn't get enough fruit, and have been keeping a wide variety stocked in the house since then. Pretty convenient that it's summer time and it's a bit less expensive to buy now! One night, I wanted MEAT: all in one meal I fixed hamburgers, bacon, and had Matt grill pork steaks (we did have a vegetable, too, but - who fixes three meats for one dinner?!?). So there have been some new cravings.

I've been trying to make sure to eat healthy, though, and I think it's paying off in healthy weight gains and just overall feeling good/healthy. I'm also really focusing on keeping hydrated, usually I will drink water, but I've also been drinking a pregnancy tea with red raspberry leaf (tones uterus, etc), nettle (helps with water retention), spearmint (digestive aid plus tastes great!), alfalfa, oatstraw, and rose hips (herbs that are all supposedly helpful in various ways, but I forget which does what now, look it up!). I can drink this tea quite happily out of the fridge with NO SUGAR! and I am not much of one for unsweetened tea, so this is good.
