Pregnancy Tea

So while reading some backposts of a blog I ran across in the last few months, I discovered a recipe for an herbal pregnancy tea. It sounded good, so I wanted to try it. My recipe isn't exactly as the one posted in the link above, but it's close.

This stuff is amazing - it tastes great, helps me be sure to get in enough water each day (I keep it cold in the fridge all the time) and besides has benefits, such as helping me keep my swelling down. I know, because I missed drinking it for a day or two, and my feet puffed up big time - I made another batch of this herbal tea, and the swelling went away again!

I just have to share the recipe, because it really has been very beneficial to me, and I know it could help others too!

Herbal Pregnancy Tea

4 Parts Red Raspberry Leaf - tones uterus, prevents hemorrhaging
4 parts Nettle - helps prevent anemia, prevents water retention
3 parts Spearmint - prevents naseua, aids digestion, tastes good!
3 parts Alfalfa - helps with morning sickness, digestion
2 parts Oatstraw - high in calcium and magnesium, has a calming effect
1 part Rose Hips - Vitamin C, helps with stress

Directions: Fill Tea Strainer with herbal mix. Boil 1 quart water, pour over strainer in jar. Fasten lid to keep steam from escaping. Steep at least 20 minutes or overnight, refrigerate, and enjoy cold!

If the taste is a bit too strong, you can always dilute this tea with water to taste - you'll need to drink more to get the benefits, but it's worth it.
